In partnership with students, parents and Prince George’s County community, Legends Charter School will provide an advanced liberal arts college preparatory education, incorporating financial education and supplemented with Blended Learning to personalize scholars learning experience and establish robust financial portfolios.
Our schools hold students to the highest possible academic standards, ask them to take responsibility for their work, and do so with the guidance of teachers who are both highly qualified and highly motivated to help students in every way possible. We understand that the time a student has to prepare for college is exceedingly short; it is our goal to make the most of that time by providing the best, most focused college-preparatory education possible.
Legends Schools Balanced Curriculum offers students a well as a well-rounded suite of courses not offered in most Public Schools. Students take Spanish beginning in Kindergarten, Latin in 5th grade and will have completed a suite of sciences and advanced math electives including economics and engineering. Our curriculum includes a comprehensive personal finance curriculum that will propel our students to emerge as independent adult consumers, fully prepared to make wise financial decisions for a lifetime of economic well-being. Most of our scholars will graduate from high school successfully completing at least 4 AP classes and interning in the career or college area of their choice.
Equity Now's efforts are focused on discovering, planning and implementing innovative solutions for pathways of building equity in the community.
Our efforts are strategically focused on the growing number of families fighting for economic and educational equity.
Many of the problems families and communities face are adaptive requiring legislation which can be litigious, time consuming and slow. Globally, the U.S. is at risk of declining economic competitiveness due to its continuing lower levels of educational attainment. The U.S. currently ranks 44th according to the quality of its mathematics and science education. The problem is exacerbated when you dig into the middle-class community.
There is a growing recognition of the importance of equity to economic development and upward mobility. High-quality education improves long-term academic and economic outcomes for children and communities. Therefore, Equity Now is committed to nurturing the full capacity of communities, helping them achieve their full economic and academic potential.
Equity Now is celebrating the anniversary of our first year in operation.
Thank you for being a part of this movement. By joining forces to give generously, we can make huge strides for children's education.
